Check out our introductory video! You can get an idea of what the channel will be like, who it will speak to and why our advertising partners would want to support it.
If you say "wow" when you see a sunset and take a deep breath when you stare out at a view, check us out. We think the time is right for The Adventure Channel!
We are wired to respond to the outdoors. Science is proving that nature makes us happy. The Adventure Channel is an online channel and website that focuses on human powered outdoor recreational activities such as kayaking, backpacking, camping, rock climbing, mountain biking and more. It will celebrate the journey as much as the destination.
It will inspire, entertain and educate our audience to go outside with a “you can do it” point of view. Adventure is coming...Wanna come out and play?
The Adventure Channel will provide focused, niche programming that is centered around Human Powered Recreational Activities (HPOR). There is a wide variety of ways that programming can be presented. We will have activity based shows, news & eco-issues shows and shows for women and minorities.
We will present feature films that contain the theme of our Channel such as "The Edge," "River Wild, and the "Endless Summer" films. We will also have kids shows centered around getting kids to play more outside.
The Adventure Channel will forge strong partnerships with the manufacturers and retailers who serve this market. These activities more than most rely on the right gear and apparel. They will be true partners for us and we will provide a dedicated, serious and focused destination for programming that will include their products.
We will have innovative ways for viewers to get information about products within our shows and link directly to partner sites to shop.
The channel grew out of our founder's disappointment in not finding programming he wanted to see about outdoor activities. He was troubled at the growing trend of people spending less time outside. He realized there was a large underserved audience out there that that needs to re-connect to the outdoors.
Cooking shows existing before the Food Network, but it took that dedicated, consistent home for that programming to create a cultural revolution. Why not the same for outdoor activities?
